Just A Dream? (Open M/M)

"Earlier than I was here," Teegan smiled as he stood, a bit taller than the other man. "I know this quain' little cafe in town. Would yeh like t' come ge' a bite with me there?"

Dante gave a shy smile and nodded, "Yeah, I'd like that. Just let me get my backpack and bike."

Teegan smiled and looked at the other man, "Bike huh? I might be able to fit it in my Lexus but it doesn't exactly have the best back seat. I guess we could tie it to the roof of the car if you don't mind."

"I could just leave it here and you could bring me back after we finished?" Dante sujested with a small smile.

"Don' yeh worry abou' i' bein' stolen or something like tha'?" Teegan asked, cocking an eyebrow. He wasn't very easy to trust, especially because of what his brother had taught him of the world.

Dante shook his head, "Not really no, but I have a bike chain for it so I'm not worried." He was often told he was far too trusting.

Teegan smiled and stood, fishing the keys to his car out of his pocket. "Follow me then."

Dante nodded after he finished with his bike and grabbed his backpack. He followed him to the his car, smiling at how nice the day was.

Teegan grinned, "So who do ya know around these parts?"

"Not many I guess, I mean I have my best friends Rafe and Jason. And some friends of my parents and teachers, but I guess I don't know too many people in town besides the family." Dante answered with a small smile.

"I don't know many people here. My brother always insists on me hanging out with rich kids and those whose families have money, I hate it. Those people are never any fun," Teegan frowned.

Dante nodded slowly, unfortunately he had known many of those rich kids in high school. And while his family wasn't poor and his older brother's have been in with the cool kids, he had been picked on by a lot of the rich kids. "Their... Not the easiest to get along with..."

"They are way to stubborn," Teegan rolled his eyes, "they insist they are good people but most of them are monsters."

"They think no one else is as good as them... And if you are then they try and make your life hell..." Dante murmured softly.

"If you're better, they don't know what the hell to do with themselves," smiled Teegan as he opened the door for Dante. "Don't mind the clutter."

Dante smiled at Teegan as he slide into the car, "Thank you and its not as bad as my brother Jacen's car." He said with a small chuckle, "His backseat never stays clean even when he cleans it."

Teegan laughed, "Sometimes I swear I clean it just so it can get dirty again. I do my best to keep it looking nice. My brother Wade says that I don't have the right type of car nor do I clean it enough to be taken seriously as a lawyer yet. I guess when I get out of college, I'll get a new car and clean it more often..."

Dante tilted his head, "You don't sound happy at that idea..." He said softly, hoping he wasn't offending the other boy.

"I've had this car since England," Teegan hid his displeasure at the fact that he had to get a new car and not the real reason that he didn't want to be a lawyer.

"I don't think the type of car you drive or what job you have should change what people think of you... Its who you are and if your happy with it... At least that's what mama always says." Dante said quietly, he was thankful his parents were letting him do what he wanted instead of making him be a lawyer or something.

"I'm not happy doing what I want...cuz I'm not doing what I want..." muttered Teegan.

Dante shyly reached his hand out to touch his shoulder before stopping just short, afraid to put his hand on the other's shoulder.

Teegan looked over at him with a soft grin, "Maybe I shouldn't be such a complainer..."

"I don't think your a complainer... More of someone that needs a good ear to talk to." Dante said with a shy smile as he looked over.

Teegan smiled, "Are you offering to be that ear?"
